Secret Baby Daddy: A Second Chance Romance

  Blurb:

Just hearing his deep voice, I could almost tell that he was extremely gorgeous. The man’s words were soothing.

His familiar green eyes made me looking down at me, making my knees wobble like jelly.

And the gentle look on his face was enough to freeze me on the spot.

I still couldn’t believe that I’d just seen him again.

What the f*ck was he doing here?

There was nothing to worry about. Although the idea of him having an anniversary celebration with his woman stung a bit.

  But what could I expect?

He always had a lot of women around him. He was one of the playboys.

It would have been more of a shock if he stayed single.

Every girl wanted that irresistibly gorgeous man. But for me, he was like an unreachable dream.

I pushed my wits and rationality aside to go after him.

And that was the stupidest thing I’d ever done.

A part of me wanted to believe that he was not completely a bad person. On some level, I was relieved that I didn’t find him back then.

But why did he have to appear in front of me after all these years

  Chapter 1

  Nick

“I can’t believe Jayden accepted the arranged marriage his parents made for him. Damn. How uncool is that?” Shawn rambled as we headed to the Masquerade Party.

After being coined the campus’s most notorious playboy, I could understand my buddy disliking the idea. Though I had no questions about our pal’s decision, I couldn’t help but think that he probably had a reason for accepting such a deal. It could be purely business, or maybe he ended up liking the woman to whom he’d be making vows. Maybe both.

“Shut it, Shawn. That's none of our business. Jayden’s a smart guy.”

“He is,” Shawn said, nodding his head. “This party is a brilliant idea!”

“Yeah!” Following his lead, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement. I couldn’t remember the last time I’d been to a wild party. The football team had been so busy juggling practice as we aimed for the national championships and studying for the final exams. The past couple of months had been really hectic. Now, we were finally getting a bit of a breather. And the day after tomorrow, we’d be officially called professionals and head to our respective fields.

The butler greeted us with a bright smile and nodded the moment we arrived at the entrance of the lavish mansion. He gestured the usher to lead us to the ballroom. But we shook our heads. We already knew the way in, since we’ve been there quite a lot.

  “Have fun, gentlemen.”

Shawn took a masque which were lying on the right side of the door asked “You want that?”

“Come on, Shawn. I not going to hide my handsome face. I need every girl’s attention tonight.”

With that, we went inside the mansion and were welcomed with the booming music and flickering disco lights. The halls were packed with people I barely could recognize, as it was a Masquerade Party. Some were already making out by the bar while others danced enthusiastically on the dance floor. I sighed as my eyes lingered on the women.

  Damn.

Watching them gyrating to the music made my blood run hot.

Ah, I’m not getting out of here without fucking someone tonight.

I opened my mouth to say something to Shawn, but I found myself drawn to the center of the ballroom. In front of me was a woman with the sexiest curves I had ever seen. Her milky skin shimmered under the lights, glistening with sweat. She was wearing a halter top and denim shorts. So far, it was the most conservative outfit I’d seen tonight. And I always enjoyed getting teased.

When my eyes landed on Shawn by the bar, I found him getting intimate with a woman in a two-piece leather suit. And as each second passed, his hands started getting more mischievous.

I shook my head. What was I expecting? It was Shawn, after all.

My attention was back on the woman once again as her arms wrapped around my neck. When her soft skin touched my neck, I knew it would be hard to resist her. I enjoyed the hot touch of her bare skin around my neck. She then moved closer, leaning against my chest. Her breath smelled like beer as she started kissing my chin while rubbing her petite figure against me. My cock was getting harder. Her body rubbed against my hard cock, and I swallowed hard. I could barely see her face as she was wearing a golden masque. I could tell she was beautiful. She was teasing every part of my body. She was so fucking hot! And now I wanted her beneath me.

Looking down at her, I crooked a finger under her chin and allowed my thumb to trace her lips as we rocked with the music. Her eyes twinkled with lust, and that was all it took me to wrap my arms around her waist, dragging her out of the crowd.

I moved towards the library on the first floor of the mansion. It was the only place I thought nobody would ever dare to barge in, since it could only be unlocked with a six-digit code. I remembered that it had been Jayden’s idea. He was always the notorious one. I didn’t know how he got the code, but I couldn’t be more thankful for it.

When we stepped inside, I found myself slammed onto the office chair behind the large study table. There were no lights inside. But with the moonlight coming into the glass windows made the woman’s sexy silhouette visible, enough to make me lick my tongue like a hungry beast.

She gave a little giggle as her body swayed sexily. Her hands undid the knot that secured the halter top she was wearing, and I gulped as my mind played with the picture of her large, round breasts. I pushed the chair back away from the table to see her silhouette from the side, and my imagination did no justice to her curvaceous body.

I waved my hand and gestured her to come closer to me, unable to wait to get my hands on her smooth skin. As if knowing what was going inside my head, she walked closer but stopped a foot away. My eyes were focused on her hands as she removed her denim shorts before finally sitting on my lap.

  Oh, fuck.

She rocked her body, rubbing against my hard cock. I could feel
her bare breasts through the thin fabric of my shirt. The more she moved, the hornier I got. When I felt her hands wrapping around my neck, I found my face buried in her breasts, the soft, smooth skin warm against my face.

Giving in to the lust I was feeling, I found myself devouring her breasts. My tongue played with her hardened nipples as my hands traveled down the soft skin of her back. Damn! She tasted so fucking good.

Raising my head, I pulled her in and kissed her mouth savagely. It was a kiss full of lust and need. Yet, the taste of her soft and full lips was sweet – like a bud of a flower. And her smell… she smelled so damned good.

I wanted her so fucking bad. I wanted to fuck her. And I was going to do just that.

She moaned against my mouth. I pulled away from the kiss and started nibbling the skin of her neck. I started licking her skin, making her whimper sensuously again and again

“You taste so fucking sweet, babe,” I mumbled.

She giggled. I felt her hands traveling to my belt buckle. Expertly, she removed my belt and slid her hands inside my pants, touching my hard-on. “You came prepared,” she commented as her hand cupped me.

I grunted in pleasure as her warm skin wrapped around my shaft. “I came here for sex. It would be such a waste if I wore an extra layer.”

“Then let’s get you out of these pants, Nick.”

When she said my name, I heard warning bells in my head. Did this woman deliberately approach me? Ah, maybe she was from a different department. I completely forgot the inhibitions that were starting to stir my mind the moment her mouth landed on mine again. Her hands moved expertly, and we got rid of my clothes.

I slid my hands down her soft belly as she whimpered. I found out that she was so wet as my fingers slipped between her legs. “You came prepared, too,” I said against her mouth as my lips curled into an amused grin feeling her wetness.

“I’m always prepared,” she replied against my lips.

  “Make me feel good…”

“Scarlet. Call me Scarlet.” Her voice was soft and enchanting. But I didn’t know if I was in the proper mindset to remember that name after tonight. All I knew was that I wanted to fuck her hard.

This woman was driving me insane!

  Chapter 2

  Scarlet

  Five years later...

I sighed and took a quick glance at the oval wall clock behind me, realizing that it was already past working hours. I stared blankly at the last lemon cake from the display and let out another deep breath.

It had been a busy day at the bakery, and I thought I’d sell everything I made before the clock struck five. But it was too presumptuous of me. Miami was a big city, and there were a lot more, bigger bakeries out there. It would be ambitious of me to think the cakes would be sold out a week after the grand opening.

  But I’d still hoped, though.

  Damn it.

I looked over at the corner where my helper used to keep the broom and dustpan. It was Thursday, but I’d be here until midnight to make sure everything was perfect before the store opened again tomorrow.

It would have been a little less tiring if Lesley was here. But she had to prepare for her exams tomorrow. She was still in high school, but was really hard-working. Sometimes, I’d asked myself why I couldn’t have been more like here back in my days. Maybe things would be different for me.

  Or not.

I sighed heavily as I shook my head and set aside those thoughts. There was no use regretting things now. That was something I had learned.

I was already sweeping the floor when I heard someone walking in. When I looked up, I saw a tall man looking at the lemon cake in the display. His shoulders were wide and his arms were lean. He was wearing a plain white shirt, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. I couldn’t see his face, but the aura he exuded was far too different from the people who had come by in the past week.

  He looked and smelled… rich.

“I’ll get the cake.” His voice snapped me back from my trance as my eyes continued studying his physique. Just hearing his deep voice, I could almost tell that he was extremely gorgeous.

  “Y-Yes, sir.”

I heard myself whisper, letting go of the broom and going around the counter to fix his order. Moving quickly, I felt really excited at the thought of having all my cakes getting sold for today, just when I was about to start losing hope.

“I must have good luck, seeing your bakery still open. I’ve been going around the place to buy something,” the man said. His voice was low, and there was a hint of relief in it.

My mouth curled into a grin. It was probably the most genuine smile I’d had the entire day.

“Birthday?” I asked while boxing up the cake. Eyeing the assorted ribbons, I waited for the man’s response. Packaging was part of the presentation.

“I’ll get the red one,” he replied instead. “It’s our anniversary,” he added proudly.

  “Lovely,” I said enthusiastically.

“Yeah, I think she mentioned this place last time. She bought a cheesecake here during the grand opening.”

Feeling pleased, I made sure the bow was perfectly done, right at the center of the box. I didn’t know why, but the man’s words were soothing. It was as if he was encouraging me. Plus, I felt quite happy to know that a couple loved my cakes.

“I’m glad she liked my –”

All the words that I wanted to say completely left me the moment I saw the man’s face. His familiar green eyes were looking down at me, making my knees wobble like jelly. And the gentle look on his face was enough to freeze me on the spot.

  Nicholas Miller.

What the fuck was he doing here?

“Miss? Are you okay?” he asked, waving the credit card on my face. He looked amused at my reaction, judging from the smirk that played at the corner of his mouth.

Swallowing hard, I took the card from his hand and handed him the box of cake. I met his gaze, and I didn’t know how I was able to smile when all I could think about hoping for the floor to swallow me whole.

“I’m so sorry. I’m just a bit surprised. You look like someone I know.” I lied.

What a liar, my mind mocked as I handed him the receipt and card back.

Nick chuckled a little. “I didn’t think I had a very common face. But I’d just take that as a compliment, seeing your reaction earlier. He must have made an impact with you.”

With that, he turned on his heels and headed to exit the store. The smile on my face immediately vanished, feeling my knees growing weaker. Gripping the edge of the counter, I slowly settled myself on one of the high chairs.

There was no doubt that it was Nick Miller. But why did he have to appear in front of me after all these years?

  Holy Shit.

I spent the next thirty minutes figuring out the situation I was in, telling myself to calm down because there was nothing between him and me. He couldn’t even recognize who I was. He just dropped by as a customer. Plus, the cake he bought was for his wife – for their anniversary.

There was nothing to worry about, although the idea of him having an anniversary celebration with his woman stung a bit. But what could I expect? Even back in college, Nick had a lot of women around him. He was one of the playboys. It would have been more a shock if he stayed single.

  Right.

It was just Nick Miller from college.

  Nothing more, nothing less.

  Chapter 3

  Nick

It was an exhausting day at the office, but the idea of Jynzl waiting for me to come home on our third anniversary was more than enough to make me feel energetic. It had been so long since the last time we spent some good quality time together. She’d been traveling quite a lot due to her modeling career, while I’d spent most of my time sealing deals for my dad’s company.

Ah, long-distance relationships sucked. But we made it work.

I had been working as the CEO of DAM Holdings for over a year now, and the responsibility was enor
mous. Not to mention that my father had been pressuring me to settle down and have a family of my own.

Maybe… just maybe tonight was a good time to talk with Jynzl.

Ever since I met her, I realized what it was like to be a one-woman kind of man. She made me want to be serious about her. At this point, I knew that she was the one I wanted to be with. She brought out a part of me I never thought existed.

With Jynzl, I learned that relationships weren’t all about sex.

It was crazy, actually. I wasn’t expecting myself to get this attached to a woman – especially to someone as career-driven as Jynzl. She loved modeling a lot, and she was working so hard to get the spotlight to shine on her. And she did – to the point that she barely spent a week in Miami. But I was cool with it. I’m swamped with work, too.

We got along well together, and it was enough for me. Seeing her enjoying what she does was refreshing because I rarely see people loving what they’re doing.

But Jynzl was different… After all, she had been able to stick by me for three years – something no woman has ever done.

Whistling, I got out of my car and carefully picked up the cake I bought from the strange bakery lady. The house was illuminated, and I could already hear Jynzl’s light humming in my head.

I chuckled at the thought. If Shawn heard me talk about how much I cared about my girlfriend, he would have been really annoyed. He never enjoyed hearing my stories when it came to my relationship. While Jayden was enjoying the life of being a married man, he was the opposite. He was still the playboy that he always had been, believing that relationships were nothing but a way to kill time.

I took large steps toward the kitchen only to see Jynzl’s familiar figure. She was standing in front of the fridge with her tight jeans and white halter blouse. At the corner of my eye, I saw her coat over the kitchen counter.

A smile escaped my mouth as I continued studying her movements.
