ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Alpha Mountain Man: A Billionaire Romance
BLURB:
Is your heart broken at a tender age? If yes, you would understand why I have found it difficult to find a man that would make the world such a colorful place.
Sometimes, I want to blame my sister for kissing him.
Sometimes, I wish I had confronted both of them.
All I did was to run as fast as my legs could carry me…
Things are different now.
And I have taken the advice:
To become successful and have any man I want.
No man has been able to make me writhe with need until I saw him.
But he is nothing like I had expected.
There is something vibrant about that man.
He is a rude and he is broken in every way I can imagine.
He could break me, too.
Or maybe he would touch me in a way no man had ever done before…
…until love and lust consume both of us.

Prologue
For a minute, Chloe Coleman stopped at the passageway of the Alder’s Mansion to check her reflection on the glass frames of Mrs. Alder’s painting. It was rare for her to be formally dressed in a loose-fitted ball gown with her wavy black hair flowing down her shoulders and over her back. She was amazed to see the woman that stared back at her. At first, she thought it was the image of a younger Mrs. Alder, wearing a gorgeous smile on her face as usual. It turned out to be her own reflection.
On an average day, Chloe knew she would be dressed in rock tees and leggings with her plump, full lips being their natural pink shade. She loved to tie her hair into a ribbon or braid it into two rough locks, so it would be easier for her to see or move without having a long strand of hair in her way. The only reason she hadn’t cut her hair was that she had always loved the wavy glinting look since she was a child. Her father had helped her to comb her hair sometimes, and she could hear his croaky voice echoing through her ears as he told her she was both beautiful and brave.
She wished he could see her now. The obstinate second daughter, her father had seen born before dying. She decided to let go of her natural look for once and look girly and beautiful to a party. Chloe didn’t like to think of her father’s untimely death because of the sadness it wrought in her heart, but a smile dotted her face as she stared at her reflection one last time and imagined that her father would have been proud to see her.
“You are beautiful, my sweetness,” she heard his voice echo in her mind. “You should never let anyone tell you otherwise.”
She stepped away from Mrs. Alder’s painting with her shoulders high and her hands picking up her dress, so she could hurry to the party downstairs just in time. She could imagine all the fun she would have. Her mother might be working in the mansion as a housekeeper, but she was attending the party as a guest. So much had changed in the past few days – so much that it made her heart throb with excitement.
As if on cue, a loud cheer emanated from the party hall as soon as she was a few feet from the stairs. Someone was giving a speech, and the guests sounded thrilled by the jokes and dialogue. Although she couldn’t make out the faces of anyone from where she stood, she could see some of the men walking around the hall in their well-tailored suits and polished shoes. Two women reeled with laughter at some point and held on to the arms of a man who led them down the hall, towards the table with drinks.
“Tonight is going to be filled with laughter and merriment," Chloe assured herself in a low voice. She closed her eyes, heaved a sigh, and made her first step down the stairs. Her foot; however, didn’t touch the tiles of the stairs as she had expected. Hot air escaped her lungs as her feet were suddenly swept off the floor. Her body swung over broad manly shoulders, and she opened her eyes to find a strong arm wrapped around her waist.
“Wait. What are you doing?!” she laughed, knowing that there was only one man in the world who would dare to steal her away from a party.
He didn’t answer her question. He only held her firmly to his shoulder and padded down the hallway to one of the rooms.
“We have got a party of our own, Chloe Coleman,” he said as soon as he stepped into the room.
Chloe bit her lips excitedly and gasped as he threw her onto the bed, staring intently at her for a second before whirling around to swipe the door lock in place.
“But—but…” she stuttered, trying to convince him it might not be the right time for them to be caught alone in a room together.
He closed the distance between them with long strides and joined her on the bed. It was enthralling to see him so filled with lust and excitement to be with her. His hand closed around her arm, and he pulled her close so he could claim his lips with hers.
He tasted of sweet grapes and alcohol, and she imagined he had had a few glasses of wine before fetching her. Against the expected dressing of men for a party, he had a casual shirt on, along with pants and boots. He kicked his boots off as his lips caressed hers intimately. Chloe felt her body rippling with uncontrollable ecstasy, especially when his hand slipped down from her hand to grip her waist.
“Wait. Oh, wait,” she whispered, trying to find room for her to control her equal lust for him.
He knew what he wanted, and it didn’t seem like he was going to let go. He broke off their kiss to stare into her blue eyes, but his hand had dropped to her thigh, leaving an electrifying jolt that ignited a burning need between her legs.
“Don’t you want me, Chloe?” he asked.
Chloe held her breath and bit her lips. “I do,” she whispered. “I do.”
“Then, you should be here with me instead of being at the party downstairs,” he said. “You should let your guard down for once and listen to your body.”
She hated to think that he was right. Her body responded to his touch with irresistible desire. At the moment, merely staring back into his deep brown eyes made her throat itchy and her knees weak with want. She wanted him desperately. She had always wanted her body beneath or above his, writhing with unbearable
ecstasy.
He knew he had her mind racing with the thoughts of the debauchery they could unleash without disturbance from the rest of the world. Slowly, without taking his eyes off her, he slipped his fingers down her legs, finding his way under her dress. “I will make love to you like no man had ever done, Chloe Coleman,” he promised. “I will touch every part of your body, getting your skin sweaty with need until you are begging me to make it stop…to make you climax until nothing else matters but us.”
Chloe couldn’t bear the images he painted with his words. As his hand caressed her tender skin, making its way to her soft thighs, she closed her eyes and gripped his shoulder. Briskly, she undid the buttons of his shirt with one hand while her other hand traveled along the length of his shoulder and chest, needing to touch him too.
Eventually, he kissed her again, this time with a fiercer need that shattered her will to resist him. She moaned in his mouth, kissing him back and opening her lips to let in his tongue. In a flash, their bodies were plastered against one another as he tangled his tongue with hers in a ferocious deep kiss.
Chloe knew there wouldn’t be any stopping of their brewing attraction when his hand slipped behind her to squeeze her ass. His other hand slipped through the laces of her dress at the same time to squeeze her full breast, and she let out a loud moan that echoed around them. He was gentle and ferocious at the same time, and she felt breath – lots of it – escape through her nostrils as her chest rose and fell against his hand.
“I want to touch you everywhere with my lips,” he muttered against her lips. “I want you to know how beautiful you are, so much I would kiss every inch of your body as an angel should.”
She had no idea if his intentions were to make her climax with his words before his hands created another spark of ecstasy within her. Whichever he had chosen, she was certain that she was a slave to both their desires. She laid beneath him, subserviently, and spread her thighs as he placed his legs between them. When he lowered himself and dropped soft kisses over her temple, neck, and shoulders; she arched her back and let out a soft moan, desiring more, and more.
Her fingers dug into his hair when he finally placed his head on her cleavage, reaching for the edges of her breasts with his tongue. It took him a while to undo her laces and pull down her dress to her waist, and each second almost sent turmoil down to her thighs. She felt the need for his lips on her skin. She desired to have his hands back on her thighs, making its way to the growing warmth of her clit.
“So beautiful,” she heard him whisper as his hands cupped her breasts and brought them out of her camisole. “So, so beautiful.”
She knew that it was going to be a long night of intimate pleasure as she squinted down to see him glance briefly into her eyes with absolute longing for her. His lips wrapped around one of her nipples afterward, and she wrapped her legs around him with deep satisfaction.
She had never thought a time would come that she would feel immense lust and love for a man like him. In fact, many years ago, she thought she was absolutely in love with an entirely different man. Everything had changed when the last person she had expected had betrayed her at a young age.
Chapter 1
“Hey, hold on, Chloe! You are making it difficult to keep up with you under this harsh sun!”
Chloe didn’t notice she had been stomping down the road as soon as the school bus dropped her and Tia off a mile away from the large Alder compound. She was trying to hide the tears in her eyes, especially after the embarrassment she had felt on the bus when the kids had made fun of her for the umpteenth time.
“I mean, how could they!?” she gritted her teeth, turning, doe-eyed, to grimace at Tia. “If they have all got rich parents and all the fancy clothes in Arvada like they claim, then they ought to know I don’t give a hoot about them.”
“Well, you probably didn’t show them that you don’t, Chloe,” Tia said, stepping towards her.
“I—I don’t?” Chloe grunted, feeling as if Tia had just made her emotions worse. “You think they are right that I have got a poor fashion sense and that I look inferior, regardless of the fact that I get to live in the Adler Mansion now?”
“No, no,” Tia said, shaking her head. Chloe wished she could control her tempter and feel sorry for her best friend, who was still panting from having to chase after her. All she could hear were the children’s chants in the bus that nothing was going to change how poor her parents were.
“Look, Chloe,” Tia was staring blankly at her now. “I love you very much as my best friend, but I think you let the kids bully you by showing that their words hurt you. You almost punched one of the boys on the bus!”
Chloe closed her eyes, trying to get the image out of her head. The incident on the bus had started when one of the kids had noticed her pulling a candy out of her pocket. Instead of minding his business, he had asked loudly if she had kept it in her pocket all day so she wouldn’t be hungry on her way home.
“She doesn’t have enough to eat because her parents are poor!” another kid had shouted.
She had tried to ignore them, but a conversation about her had grown on the bus. A group of girls who wore exotic, matching outfits all the time decided to point out that she was ill-dressed in leggings and jackets all the time because she wasn’t brought up in affluent homes that taught her anything about how girls should dress. When one of the boys had picked up on that too, reaching for her braids and laughing horribly at them, she had lost control. She had lunged at him and would have scratched his eyes out if Tia hadn’t held her back.
“So, you—you want me to just sit there and let them point out that I haven’t got everything in this world like they have?” Chloe stuttered, staring disbelievingly at Tia.
“No, no, no,” Tia said, closing the distance between them to hold her hand. She sounded frustrated and sighed. “Heaven knows I like it when you show some of the boys, they couldn’t mess with you, but a little bit of subtlety won’t hurt sometimes.”
“Subtlety?”
“Yes. You know, the word for delicacy, refinement, and restraint?”
Chloe shook her head, and Tia literally rolled her eyes. “It doesn’t matter,” she said. “I was just thinking totally ignoring them would work sometimes. They would eventually learn that none of their words hurt you and give up.”
Tia was rubbing her hands and staring sympathetically into her eyes the entire time that she spoke, and Chloe realized that it actually helped. “Ughh!” she eventually grunted, giving in to Tia’s advice. “Those annoying, wealthy jerks!”
“Well, you did let them get under your skin until you were annoying to them, too,” Tia responded with a short laugh.
Chloe laughed too and slowly withdrew her hands. “Thanks,” she whispered.
Tia winked at her and began to step towards the Alder Mansion alongside her. Both of them walked the distance without speaking for a while, and Chloe thought about how their friendship was one of the beautiful things she had in the world.
Tia’s parents owned the mansion that was beside the Alder’s, and ever since Chloe’s parents had moved into the Alder compound so that her mother could work as a housekeeper, Chloe had surprisingly gotten acquainted with Tia first instead of the Alder children. They had met under the apple tree between both compounds once, and their friendship had blossomed.
“Would you swing by the Secret Lounge later this evening?” Tia asked, ending the silence between them and jolting Chloe’s mind out of her thoughts.
“Sure,” Chloe smiled at her. Two years ago, Tia had convinced her parents to build a small wooden house beside the apple tree for them. She had named the house the Secret Lounge when it became the only place in the world where they both shared each other’s secrets to themselves.
Speaking of secrets, Tia whirled around to smile at her as soon as they got close to the gates of the Alder’s compound and noticed who was walking towards the front porch.
“What?” Chloe asked, despite the fact tha
t her eyes had trailed to the house to see what had caught Tia’s attention. It was Jacob, the Alders’ oldest son, sauntering into the house from the garden.
“What? Really?” Tia rolled her eyes. “When are you finally going to tell him?”
“Tell him what?” Chloe pretended again, preferring not to talk about her undying crush for Jacob unless she and Tia were in the Secret Lounge.
Tia shook her head and took another step towards the gates. “I know I would have told him if I had the tiniest of feelings for him. I still don’t understand why you would have such crush on someone for this long and keep it from them.”
Chloe wished she could explain it too. As a matter of fact, she could, and she had a lot of time to tell Tia her reason. She was just the daughter of the housekeeper, and Jacob was the son and heir to the Adler wealth. If Jacob Adler never at least considered those, she knew he hardly spared her a glance when she spent all day looking forward to seeing him around the house. Perhaps, the kids at school were right. She wouldn’t look beautiful or classy to anyone who was born into affluence. The only time Jacob ever looked at her was once when he had defended her against his younger sister, who bullied Chloe a lot in school too.
“Anyway, if you are going to pretend as if we have never spoken about him, then I don’t need to push the issue,” Tia concluded, already stepping away from the gates, to proceed towards the gates of her home.
Chloe was glad she didn’t have access to her thoughts, anyway. If Tia had, there would probably be another lecture about how she let the kids at school get into her head. “Goodbye, Tia,” she whispered under her breath.
“Goodbye,” Tia whispered back too, but that was before she smiled again and nodded towards the house. “Tell him today, Chloe,” she said. “It wouldn’t hurt to know if he feels the same way about you too.” With that, Tia clutched tightly to her schoolbag and hopped by the fence of the Adler compound to the gates of her home.
